GH 8/19: Brenda is Towanga's cousin

Loft: Dante wakes up with a gruesome hangover.  Michael is standing over him and tells him he was either drunk or high and hooking up with Brooke last night.  Dante is confused.

Crimson:  Apparently both Looloo and Maxie remembered they have jobs today.  Loo tells Maxie that Dante go drunk and made out with Brooke.

Italy: Brenda comes back from a photo shoot for aging short people.  She wears glasses now and tells Adrienne that Movie Star Boyfriend proposed last night.

Corinthaus:  Sonny stares off the terrace.  Robin visits and tells him about her visit with Anna.  Sonny says she looks great.  She does.  Robin says she was catching up on emails and stuff and wondered if Sonny got in touch with Brenda.  And she's a physician and mother of a baby and has a troubled marriage, so she couldn't possibly just text this like a sane person, and instead drove out Valley of Death Drive to the lake to ask him in person.

Credits

Jason's Penthouse:  Sam made Jason a meal of vomity looking eggs that they complain are poorly made.  She starts talking about a vacation, and their kiss is interrupted by that grumpy Laundromat Lou wanting to know where he was the night before.  Apparently one of Johnny's properties was torched, and Jason is the prime suspect.

Loft Dante claws his way out of bed and says it's impossible that he was with Brook.  Michael says he came home and Dante was in bed, and Loo was there and said Dante didn't know who she was.  Dante wonders if someone put something in his drink.  He thinks he only had a few beers.  His last memory is being with Brook at Jake's.

Crimson:  Loo says she came home to find Brook straddling Dante, and she was in her underwear, and he was shirtless. Maxie says he can't sweet talk his way out of that one.  Loo says Dante was very stoned and had no memory of even meeting her.  Maxie says that sounds unnerving.  Loo says she knows, and thinks this is all Brook.  Maxie says Brooke has obviously had her eye on Dante, and "she's skank and a liar, and I'm pretty sure I already told you this."  Loo says she knows.  She says if Dante was drugged, it had to have been Brooke. (sorry that I spell her name differently every time)

Italy:  Adrienne repeats "Murphy proposed."  and Brenda responds by cackling.  The giggle has apparently evolved.  She blathers about Murphy's rich people problems, and that's why he proposed b/c he wants to feel like he can count on someone.  She says she feels like she can count on him to.  So romantic.  Like in all those fairy tells where the pauper meets the prince and is all "wow, you are so reliable.  Let's sign some legal documents and share ownership in real estate together because it feels very responsible."

Corinthaus:  Robin and Sonny continue to gossip.  But, if Robin ran into Brenda, wouldn't she know Brenda has a boyfriend, so why would she mess that up.  I have friends who way more beautiful than everyone they know, like Brenda and Sonny are and had a very volatile on again/ off again relationship.  But when ever either of them ever asks one of us if they should so much as have lunch with their ex, we all ALWAYS say it's a terrible idea.  Because why would I want either of them to ever go through that same misery again?

Commercials

Jason's Penthouse;  Sam tries to point out that there are other bad guys in this town, but Lou feels he's got the right guy.  Jason is cuffed and mirandized.

Loft:  Dante asks if Loo said what he and Brooke were doing.  Michael breaks the bad news that Brooke was in her underwear on his lap. Dante groans with every inch of his body.  He leaves to hopefully fix this.

Kelly's:  Olivia and Mike gossip about Sonny not being able to see Michael, and that Dante is sticking to the court order.  Mike wants her to try to make peace between Dante and Sonny.  She says she doesn't have that kind of influence.  Johnny shows up and orders a coffee.  Mike's all "we don't serve your kind here"  Olivia says Mike was just yammering about keeping the peace.  Mike only wants peace that he likes apparently, and believes being a dick to people is in no way perpetrating the problems.  Johnny points out that Waitress Mike doesn't own the joint, the Spencer's do, and he and Ethan are buds.  Mike is ridiculous and says he has to hear it from a Spencer that Johnny can be served.

Corinthaus:  Robin tells Sonny it might be nice to hear Brenda's voice, then she leaves to go meddle in someone else's life.

Italy:  Brenda says she could love Murphy, but there would always be something missing.  Adrienne asks what the could be.  Brenda says it's a someone.  A asks if he's a realistic option.  Brenda smiles and sits that says that he's not, and they've been out of each other's lives for a long time.  If she married Murphy, her heart would always be divided.  Ade asks if the man Brenda is about to "drop kick a movie star for" is he alive or dead.  and that is a very simple question, but it's a soap opera, so for some reason we go to commercials with Brenda looking unsure of the answer.

Commercials

I know everyone likes to say Looloo and Maxie are sluts too, so they can't be mad at Brooke, but that's not how that math works.  Looloo and Maxie went out of their way to sleep with men with whom they were in love.  It was rotten of them that they had so little respect for Liz and Georgie, and they were wrong to sleep with married men. and Dillon and Lucky were willing participants.  You can call them whores if you want, but they were not literally whores like Brooke is.  Furthermore, She drugged a man with the intention of raping him, and she did this to a man who she thinks of as a friend.  So if Looloo and Maxie are up here in slutdom, fair enough, but Brooke is like way, way up there, so far up you can barely see her, so they have every right and reason to mock her for it.

Crimson:  Dante brings Looloo a bouquet of "sorry I boinked my neighbor" flowers and a cake.  He says he's sorry, and he would never do anything to hurt her, and he doesn't remember a thing, and he'll take a lie detector test.  He says he would never kiss Brooke if he was in his right mind.  He loves her and would never cheat on her or betray her.  Loo tries to interrupt a few times, but he keeps going until she looks sad and hopeful that he's telling the truth.

Kelley's al Fresco:  Brooke sits and eats junk food.  Maxie walks out of Kelly's with her take out, sets her coffee cup on Brooke's table with a force, bends at the waist to put her face in Brooke's and slowly and deliberately says "How.  Dare. You.  show your face at Kelly's.  Looloo's family owns this place.  You know Looloo?  Dante's girlfriend, the dante you drugged last night"  Brooke feigns innocence and asks Maxie what she's talking about.  Maxie sits and says she's been onto Brooke since she showed up at Jake's to sing "cheesy karaoke" and tried to flash cleavage.  Brooke says Dante came onto her.  Maxie says that's a lie, and Brooke moved onto Johnny after Dante left.  She calls Brooke a slut, and Brooke evenly calls her a slut too.  Maxie ignores this and repeats with crisp diction, "I am onto you." She says Brooke better back off, or she'll make clear to everyone just how Brooke rolls.

Corinthaus:  Sonny continues to stare at Brenda's number.  Sam shows up to tell Sonny that Jason was arrested.  She's called Diane, but she wants to know if Sonny is the one who put the hit... Sonny interrupts and says absolutely not, it was The Lopez Danger.  and Sam blithely believes him b/c it's not like Sonny ever lies. She doesn't want Jason to go back to prison.

Cafe Interrogate:  Lou is still angry about Clair's typo that got Jason released from prison.  He makes a Pied Piper reference that I don't get.  To be mean, Lou has MIchael dragged into Cafe Interrogate as well b/c he thinks Michael knows more about the driveby than he's said.  Jason gets angry and tells Lou to come after him and leave MIchael alone.  Also, Jason, if you and Sonny want Michael left alone, you could also quit killing people all the time.  Just a thought!

Commercials

Cafe Interrogate: In an exhausting exercise in futility, Lou tells Michael that if he comes clean now, everything will be fine.  Michael's face says "um, yeah, last time someone told me that, I ended up needing an HIV tests"  Michael says he doesn't want to cover anything up anymore. Jason is alarmed, but Michael is not a complete idiot and says he'll say no more without his attorney present.  Diane shows up to yell at Lou for questioning her clients without council present.  Jason says Lou is just using Michael to get to him.  "Get Michael released and get him suspended."

Crimson:  Dante insists that Brooke is like a sister to him.  Loo says it didn't look like that.  He insists that even though Brooke is a pretty girl, he isn't attracted to her like that.  He says he met Brooke b/c she was upset, and after that, it's a blank.  He begs her again to forgive him.  She says she knows he was stoned like the night he found her messed at the pier.  "you didn't take advantage of me, but I can't say the same for Brooke."  He says he doesn't want to remember what happened.  She says she won't hold this against him, but she's pissed at Brooke for taking advantage  Dante stands her up and says she's amazing.  She smiles and agrees.  They kiss to shmaltzy piano music.

Kelly's al Fresco: Maxie is all "stop me if you've heard this"  she says Brooke called Dante with a fake sob story, and then got him drunk and drugged him and then took advantage.  Brooke feigns sadness and says she expected more from Maxie because they were both drugged in college.  Brooke leans in and says she wouldn't drug someone, that's something Maxie would do.  Maxie is all "oh, but you did drug him is the thing."  Dante could drink for 6 hours straight and still not been into a slut like her.    Brooke says the facts are Dante had one beer, and then they went home, and he is lonely and Looloo doesn't understand him.  Maxie if offended by the lameness of this lie and says outright "are you serious?  is that the best you can do."   Brooke says Loo is so boring, and Maxie cuts her off "say one more thing about Looloo and I will rip every hair out of your head."  Brooke leans in and tells her to try it.  Johnny happily walks up and asks "Problem?" in that dopey ways guys do when two women are fighting, because they hope they end up kissing or having a panty pillow fight.  Maxie says Johnny should use caution around Brooke because she's taken to drugging guys to be with her.  She tells him to just ask Dante and then flounces away.  Johnny looks quizically at Brooke, who I suspect didn't think all the way through her Spy Hooker plans.

Commercials

Crimson:  Loo sits on Dante's lap. She tells him he hit on her last night, and he says that's the only part he meant.  She says there was something he wouldn't tell her, somthing he regretted but refused to talk about.  Dante doesn't appear to know what this means.  Maxie shows up and says flowers and cupcakes are a nice touch, and Dante is lucky that he has a fogiving girlfriend.  She adds that she ran into Brooke, and that Brooke was clearly lying and guilty as sin.  or you know, as guilty as everyone else in this town.  except for the hooker thing.  That's all hers.

Kelly's:  Johnny seems to take Brooke's word that Maxie was just mad about something.  He says Maxie will have moved onto something else by tomorrow.  Ethan shows up and says his services are needed.

Ethan and Johnny go inside, and Ethan politely but sternly tells Mike that Johnny is welcome here.

Bullpen:  Diane berates Lou for being such a crappy cop.

Cafe Interrogate:  Sam, Jason and Michael hang out and braid each other's hair and paint each other's toenails.  Jason commends Michael for standing up to Lou.  Michael says Jason doesn't have to protect him every single day.  They stare at each other as miles of secret pain floats by.  Diane tells Michael he's free to go, but they are going to hold Jason for 48 hours for questioning.  Sam is aggravated that they just want to frame Jason.

Italy:  Brenda and Adrienne a conversation that last for approximately 14 years and seems to be about bodyguards and Rome and oddly fitting tops.  yadda yadda yadda, Ade tells Brenda to just call Sonny already and quit prolonging all this nonsense.

Corinthaus:  Typeli and Sonny hang around on youtube or whatever.  Typelli notes that Brenda and Walsh have similar looks.  Sonny is all "yeah, yeah, yeah, me and casting, we got a type, what can we say"  A particular photo of Brenda wearing glasses and smiling at a small child catches Sonny's attention in a way that  feeling the hot poker of love for an old flame can.

Commercials

Crimson:  Maxie and Loo are alone, and Maxie thinks they should team up and chase Brooke out of town.  Loo naively says she doesn't think Dante will go near her again. Maxie points out that Brooke lives across the hall.  Loo believes it's all under control.  Maxie leaves, and Olivia shows up.  Loo tries to gently break the news that even though Brooke is a family friend of O's, she should know that Brooke drugged him last night.

Kelly's al fresco:  Dante summoned Brooke and wants to sort out a few things.  He says he doesn't remember any of it.  Brooke feigns surprise and says she was only over at his apartment b/c he invited her.  He asks what happened at Jake's.  She lies that he had a beer, and they got notalgic, and he said he needed her, and she didn't want him to be alone. Dante says that's a blank and asked if she drugged him.

Cafe Interrogate:  Diane and Jason gossip about his options.  Sam notices that Sam isn't in the bullpen anymore and asks when she leaves.

cut to stiletto boot being zipped up at Jason's penthbouse:  She's dressed like trampy ninja and tells Typelli that he's got to prove Jason is innocent.

Brenda and Sonny sit in different parts of the world, hold their phones, and stare at identical scraps of paper with each other's phone numbers on them.  They both begin dialing at the same time.

The end

I was really excited about Brenda, even though she had left long before i started watching, but they've kinda ruined her big come back with the most boring story line ever right now.
