GH 8/23: The Nanny might as well be a juniper tree
Emma's Cottage: Robin and Patrick come home and learn from their preposterously stupid nanny that she let someone take a baby out for ice cream, even though she didn't bother to simply call the parents, who are doctors and very easy to reach 24/7 and even though Patrick and Robin never said anything about it.
Stupid Van: Sam has daphned herself into a white van belonging to The Danger. She's on the phone with Jason because normally instead of using the phone these weirdos drive all the way across town to remind someone that they have a meeting later on the other side of town, but now when phone use is ill advised b/c she is in a very enclosed space and obviously withn ear shot, not to mention how incredibly bright the LCD would be at night in an enclosed space, Sam finds it necessary to have a chat. because texting wasn't invented, I guess? Or Sam knows she always whispers, so The Danger can't hear her? Jason tells her to use her GPS to figure out where she's going. Also? duh. Why didn't Miss Superhero detective figure that one out on her own?
Corinthaus: Sonny tells Dante that he just shot Johnny. Or rather, he mumbles something about waiting for Diane to get there, and then he says he shot Johnny. He thinks that by being honest about it, Dante will be so impressed that it will prove Sonny's love or worth or some other dumb thing.
Credits
Emma's Cottage: Robin manages not to bite her dopey nanny's head off. Patrick wants to call in Mac, and then maybe the national guard. Or Aquaman if he's available. Robin thinks it makes more sense to simply drive all over the place for hours with no plan or any help from her uncle the police commissioner who could at least send out an APB. Robin says they'll call the police if they don't hear from Lisa in an hour. Because it's not like there are at least three states in the tri-state area that Lisa could be to or well on her way to in an hour and a half. (not to mention that it's only 45 seconds to get anywhere in Europe)
Metrocourt: Walsh and Jax discuss the typo that set Jason free. Jax wants tomake sure the same doesn't happen with Sonny. Walsh says she doesn't work for him, so he should call his buddies in DC. Why is she so pissed at Jax? He says if she has something to use against Sonny, she should use it.
GH: We hear an approaching ambulance, and Maya frets that she'll suck again. Stephen says she can do this. They rush Johnny in and start hollering about central lines, and units of blood. Maya actually remembers and uses her medical training this time.
Corinthaus: Dante got the call that Johnny has been rushed to GH. Sonny says it's not what Johnny thinks. He mumbles something about hearing him out, and then he can be a cop and arrest him if he wants. He mutters about thinking about Dante's brothers and sisters. Dante says it bugs him that Sonny uses his children as a shield. and word. Not that I don't hate you Dante because you are going to let Sonny go around killing people with no consequence, but why does Sonny expect everyone else to think of his children, but it never occurs to him to do the same. Sonny says he shot Johnny in self defense.
Italy: Is that supposed to be Luke? He's using a dopey fake accent...but no glasses or stupid wig. Oh, that's just Franco's agent. He wants to hire Brenda, but she politely says no. She's still dressed like s a model in a Dickens novel.
Commercials
Italy: Brenda speaks with a weird, hoarse voice and says that Franco is all about violence, and she's devoted the last 7 years to helping abused children, so she would never lend her face to such a thing. Agent says he understands, but then he hands her a check for a gillion dollars and says Franco will double the amount in a contribution to her charity, some amount large enough that it gives the previously resolute Brenda pause. She insists she's not interested. Agent says he'll be disappointed. He notices a window is open and leaves suddenly.
Metrocourt: Walsh insists that Sonny will go to prison, and she doesn't understand what Jax is afraid of. How does everyone already know Johnny was shot? They must have cracker jack journalists. Or, I guess they are talking about the drive by, not this latest shooting?
GH: Maya and Stephen work on Johnny. Luckily it was just a gun shot wound, point blank, to the center of the chest, so there's understandably no urgency in their actions. Ethan shows up to flirt with Maya and speaks lightly of the situation. She doesn't find his joking appropriate because it's a gun shot wound. Oh, Maya, you're so naive. Lucky shows up to ask about gunshot residue tests and such. Ethan says there's no need for that b/c Sonny shot him. Lucky is very snotty and says Ethan said he wasn't there, so how did he know Sonny shot him. Well, my first guess would be because it's obvious. and my second guess would be because it's extremely obvious.
Corinthaus: Dante is not amused and mocks Sonny for acting like he was just walking down the street, minding his own beeswax, and Johnny suddenly tried to shoot him. Just like Sonny just happened to rush into Johnny's garage and warn Kristina just before a car bomb exploded. Sonny concedes his actions set things in motion. Dante scoffs that Sonny never thinks he's directly responsible. Sonny says Johnny keeps coming after him to get revenge for Claudia's death. He yammers on for a second and BING we have a Deke reference. dante rolls his eyes and starts to leave saying he won't listen to Sonny hide behind his childhood. Sonny yells that he's not hiding, he's trying to figure out how this happened. oy. Dante says he can't tell who the victim is anymore b/c Sonny and Johnny have been going at it so long, but Johnny has the bullet in his chest, so he's looking like the best option. Sonny says the plan was to make peace so he could have his children back in his life. "If I get charged with attempted murder, I'll never see them again." Well, gee jackass, maybe not so much with the intricate revenge plots that involve a pile of dead bodies then, next time.
The Danger Warehouse: Jason finds Sam, but then someone shoots at them. I feel more sympathy for the trash container they hide behind than anyone else in this scene.
Commercials
Nurse's Station: Patrick tells Stephen that Lisa took Emma. Stephen doesn't believe Lisa would hurt Emma, and she just wants to scare Patrick and get him to give into her. Patrick says he'll do whatever it takes to get Emma back. Um, including telling your wife that you told Lisa and anyone who would listen that you didn't want your wife anymore and then slept with Lisa?
Shoot out. It's the boring kind with no church's or montages or babies.
GH: Ethan and Maya yammer about Johnny. Ethan implies that he'll be sad if Johnny dies b/c he'll lose the cash influx. He says he'll owe her one if she saves Johnny. Maya is grossed out.
Lucky tells Ethan was right, there's an APB on Sonny. He asks how Ethan knew. Again, how do you NOT know this? How is Sonny NOT at least a possible suspect in your mind, Lucky?
Corinthaus: Sonny whines that Johnny knew how to push his buttons and convinced Kristina that he was as bad as Kiefer. Sonny accepts his part in hwat he did b/c K hates him for the choices he made. "I was so focused on taking Johnny down, that it almost cost me my family. I know the only way to keep everyone safe is to make peace." He says he told Johnny he wanted the peace, but Johnny wasn't interested. He also says if he hadn't shot Johnny, he'd be dead.
Docks: Marvelously Corrupt Laundormat Lou takes Johnny's gun that he took from the crime scene. He seems to at least be conflicted by the half dozen or so laws he's about to break, but he ultimately tosses the gun into the harbor.
Commercials
The Danger Warehouse: Somehow only two men have managed to subdue Jason and Sam. How is that possible? Oh, wait, nevermind. Almost immediately, Jason manages to take out two armed men, even though he himself is no longer armed. Sam manages to watch without getting kidnapped or whining about getting married. They rush to the van and drive away.
Metrocourt: Walsh says annoying things like "it's easy to make Sonny the villain." Yes, and it's also easy to sinus infections about to be awful and oozing sores out to be unpleasant. Sometimes descriptions are easy to come by on account of how correct they are. Jax rolls his eyes back to Australia and begs her not to start talking about Sonny' heart of gold. She says Sonny went on trial to protect Michael. Jax doesn't buy it and says if he truly wanted to protect M&M, he would have given them up long ago. She says he hates Sonny with a passion, as if that somehow means that Sonny therefore must not be deserving of the hatred. I guess she'd defend that Sonny consistently threatens to murder Jax just because he hates him with a passion. Jax says he has his reasons. She thinks this goes back before Carly. He says Sonny has a long line of victims, starting with Lily. Walsh says that's sad. Jax says sad doesn't begin to cover it, just ask The Woman who was with him the night Lily died. I guess my timeline is all facocta b/c I don't remember Jax being around back then. Anysnooze Jax blathers that he tried to save This Woman from Sonny, but she ultimately couldn't be saved.
Italy: Brenda has changed into work out clothes, which oddly doesn't include having her hair up. She leaves a message for someone, Murphy maybe and leaves. Her suite is dark, but ominous music plays as we pan across the room to the open terrace doors.
Corinthaus: Sonny says Johnny had a gun pointed at his chest, and that Johnny was blaming him for Claud's death. Dante says Johnny was right about that. He says Johnny waited too long to pull, so Sonny could shoot him. Dante scoffs some more. Sonny says if he wanted Johnny dead, he could have gone "bam bam bam bam" Sonny wants a cookie because he only shot a man in the heart. He cries about how he's so noble and awesome and would lay down his life for his kids. (facts to the contrary: when he saw a gun in his warehouse, he dove for Kate, not his son. When Michael was facing prison time, he could have gotten Michael acquitted if he'd simply lied an said he threatened MIchael to go along wth the conspiracy, but his stupid reputation as not hitting women and children was more important than keeping his son out of prison.)
GH: Lucky tells Ethan that he knows he has to keep Johnny's secrets, but he needs to know stuff. He asks if Sonny ran into Johnny by accident, or were they gunning for each other.
Emma's Cottage: Patrick comes home to find Lisa feeding Emma ice cream. Patrick grabs her up, and Lisa laughs like she has no idea why Patrick is so upset.
Commercials
The Danger van: Sam thinks they lost The Danger. Jason says they need to ditch the van b/c it may have drugs in it, and they'll be blamed if they are caught with the van.
Metrocourt: Walsh says Sonny is working overtime to get her to believe he's misunderstood, and if she compromises himself then she won't be able to prosecute him. She says Sonny can go around thinking she's compromised, and meanwhile she's gathering evidence against him. She sounds convincing when she says her goal remains to put Sonny away for good.
GH: Stephen says the way Maya actually moved and did stuff was much more in keeping with a doctor's requirements. She says something weird about how she's going to save the one person who chooses to turn their life around and save themselves. Ah yes, the hippocratic oath "I will acquire, for benefit of the sick all measures that are required so long as I morally agree with how the person lives their life."
Lobby: Lucky continues to try to get info from Ethan. He thinks it should be as simple as obviously Sonny did this, so prove it and prosecute him.
Johnny wakes up, and Maya tells him he's in the hospital and they are going to fix him up. Johnny smiles slightly and wishes her good luck.
Corinthaus: Dante suggests that Sonny turn himself in voluntarily b/c it will suggest he's not hiding anything. Johnny will name Sonny as his shooter. Sonny mumbles that he's facing a murder trial. Sonny thanks Dante for listening to him and tells him he's a good man. Dante says that Sonny could be too, maybe even someone he could respect. Lou bangs on the door and waltzes in and says Sonny tried to kill Johnny. Dante says he knows, and it was self defense.
Emma's Cottage: Lisa lies so easily it makes me think that maybe everyone else is crazy. Patrick is outraged and threatens to call the police if Lisa ever lays a hand on Emma again. Lisa finally reminds me that she is in fact remarkably crazy when she tells Patrick that it could be like this all the time, the two of them and Emma. Robin shows up, and everyone stares open mouthed at each other.

Van: Jason who just said they have to get away from the van, decides instead that they should sit around gabbing in the same van. Sam says her plan worked because she got footage of stuff. Lucky shows up to eaveslurk while Ethan says "I thought the plan was for you to kill Sonny. How did you screw that up." Gee, Ethan, why not also start saying all your PIN codes and passwords out loud?
Corinthaus: Lou and Dante bicker about the self defense story. Dante says he didn't believe it at first, but now he does. He says Sonny was about to go make a statement. Lou says there was no gun in the area, "just like you were when he shot you in this room"

Mad it was another lets glorify violence montage... it cut from Lily getting into the car and going boom as Jax and Brenda "clinked" champagne glasses getting married on his yacht.

"Jax tries not to get his hopes up because he knows all 85 verses of this song by heart."
Not a big Jax fan AT ALL, but he did a fine job showing this exact sentiment with one weary look.
Reading this post, I couldn't help but think maybe Sonny et al aren't so bad afterall. The bullets in this town rarely (if ever) work. (a freak vortex of gravity perhaps?) Poisoning, neck snapping and falls off a parapet are the only sure-fire ways to kill anyone for reals.
