GH 9/3: Rome Is Burning (but only when it pees)

Nurse's Station:  Lisa is up and around but wobbly.  She and Stephen chat.  He tells her to take a break if it gets too much.  Robin and Patrick show up with Emma.  Apparently there is daycare at GH?  Makes sense that they fired their dum dum nanny who let some random person take their child.

Garden Entrance:  Brenda does a Snoopy dance from the waist down when she sees Murphy.  I think maybe Sonny hasn't seen her yet?  Yes, show, you totally have us on the edge of our seats.  What you don't realize is it's our toilet seats, and we've also got a bucket in case we vomit.

Kelly"s:  Carly continues to grouse about Brenda to Jax.   Jax teases her "oh, you want to find out if I still have feelings for Brenda?  Or...more likely, you want me to be the spoiler to keep her away from Sonny."  Carly's face growls at him.

Credits

Jason's Penthouse:  Meanwhile, Sam seems that she could care less about Brenda's return and what that means for her.  I can't tell if it's b/c she's really confident or totally stupid.  Let's bet on both, shall we?  Jason insists that Jason is a spoiled PITA, but it's in a doth protest too much kind of way, if you ask me b/c he never gets animated or excited like this.  Sam says he shouldn't say that b/c she was his wife.  Jason says it was just blackmail.  He wanted Sonny and Carly to stay together for Michael, so he wanted Brenda out of the running.  Sam is all "Oh, so it was like with me, when Sonny knocked me up and you had to take over feeding and watering me."  That is not an actual quote, but I'm too lazy to fix it.  Jason says it wasn't the same b/c he looooooved eating Chinese food with her.  Also, Brenda thought she was had inherited The Crazies from her mom, and she wanted Jason to commit her if it came to that (aka, Jax and Sonny would have taken care of her.  lol.  as IF)  Jason says it turns out she didn't have The Crazies, but she was "addicted to the drama in her own life."  True dat. Jason admits that if Brenda needed help, he guesses he would help her.  hahahah Sucker!  Sam asks if he still feels obligated.  Jason asks if she's worried that he may like Brenda.  Um, not until you worded it precisely like that.  Because now even I'm worried that you actually like Brenda as opposed to the fantasy love Brenda and Jason share in my mind.

Garden Entrance:  Sonny stands up to pay the waiter and doesn't see Brenda.  On account of how it's so impossible to notice the love of your life when she's standing directly in front of you with nothing in your way.  Bruphy talk about stupid stuff.  Cloris Extraman asks Sonny if he means to be a litterbug and leave his magazine.

Kelly's:  Carly busts out all her pent up Brenda Hatred all at once.  She insists that she doesn't give a fig about Sonny.  They go 'round and 'round a bit about feelings and the past.  Her eyes fill with tears of rage and she asks if Brenda is still Jax's barometer for what he loves about women.  Jax bows his head in frustration and says that no, Carly is.  Aw.

Johnny's room:  Johnny continues his clever way of lying by leaving out one simple fact.  Actually, he finally does say that he was unarmed.  Michael gets livid and demands that Johnny call the cops and tell them the truth. Luckily, Patches shows up before Michael chops Johnny's head off with a pillow.

Commercials

Jason's Apartment:  Sam tugs at a lock of hair like a mental patient while Jason (way to easily, way too expressively) says he never got the whole Brenda Thang, he didn't like her very much, and Sam is nothing like her, so that's good.  He says she's beautiful and wonderful.  Sam makes cute little gestures with her hand, encouraging him to say more.  He says Brenda is just.... she leans forward, eager to hear the gossip.  Jason says she's just "brenda....annoying"  He says he's getting annoyed just talking about her.  "She's an idiot, she's insecure, and if I had it my way Brenda would live on the other side of the world for the rest of her life."

Garden Entrance:  Brurphy have what I believe they think is a cute conversation.  Sonny and his Aging Cougar have a boring conversation. blah blah, she magically knows he's waiting for a woman.

Johnny's Room:  Patches points out that it won't look good if Johnny pops a stitch or a clot while Michael is harassing him.  Michael says he figures it would mean back to Pentonville with no more second chances.  Michael says he'll leave, but he threatens Johnny first.  Michael leaves, and Johnny feebly says he doesn't hold it against Michael for protecting his dad.  Patches goes over the facts that Sonny was out to get Johnny.  He asks why Johnny was wandering around without protection.  John asks if he'd like a new job. (you mean as an Irish pirate?)

Commercials

GH Lab:  Robin's lab is redonk, y'all.  She's got a beaker burbling, but only one, and there are a million files and photos all over the place.  She gets a call and leaves, and we do a close up on a photo of Emma.  Also, Robin leaves the beaker boiling.  Is she making ramen?

Nurse's Station:  Lisa tells Random Token Asian Surgeon something about a surgery.  Lisa bullies him out of a surgery.  Bye, Random Token Asian Surgeon Guy!  It was weird seeing someone who is not Caucasian for 14 seconds!

Johnny's Room:  Patches tells Johnny not to bribe him.  Johnny says he doesn't want to hire a cop, he wants to hire Lucky.  "10 times the pay, 10 times the freedom.  wouldn't you rather laugh with the sinners than die with the saints?"  Patches takes his dollies and goes home.

Rome:  Sonny talks to Aging Cougar about Brenda.  He tells her about his Super Magical Love.  blah blah, Brenda deserved better, but she was very tenacious.  She loved him and wasn't going anywhere.  They tried and failed, but they could never get it right, and they could never let go.

Marble Slab:  Brenda gives a stupid squeal that they mad it safely home.  Murphy is stern.  She talks insanely about her pears.  Murphy is mad that she went out without her bodyguards. Apparently Adrienne tattled.  Brenda is annoyed that people gossip about her.  Murphy is really concerned and agitated that Brenda is risking her life.

Dark and Stormy Bad Guys share a photo of Brenda and Murphy.

Commercials

Nurse's Station:  Robin and Stephen talk about patients.  Robin apologizes that her personal problems get in the way of her job.  Lisa has put on her cloak of invisibility so that she can stand directly in Robin's line of vision without being seen.  Because what woman would be remotely aware of the woman who recently boinked her husband and kidnapped her daughter, right?  Somehow Lisa is close enough to hear Robin and Stephen talk about her and call her crazy but not close enough to be seen.  Robin walks away from Stephen, and thus walks even closer to Lisa, but she still doesn't see her.  Did Lisa awesomely develop Peripheral Vision Blindness and infect everyone?

Kelly's:  Jax tells Carly that no woman will ever hang the moon or steal babies with him like she did.  She gets all "aw shucks" about it.  Jax says this isn't really about Cary's ego anymore because they are responsible for children, so he doesn't want to play this.  It's weird when Jax is awesome.  He breaks the news that Michael doesn't want to go to school.  Carly is all "which one is Michael?  I'm so happy you are here to remind me I have children."

Countryclub:  Kristina hangs out with some big toothed Mean Girl.  Walrus face (she's actually totally cute, but I'm assuming she's going to be mean to Michael or Kristina, so I'm being preemptively hateful) sees Michael in his Risky Business glasses and drools over him.  She leaves so that Kristina can whine to Michael about her daddy issues.

Garden Entrance Cafe:  Sonny continues to exposit to some woman we'll never see again.  he talks about Stone.  So he took him in and got him to become a criminal.  or whatever.  He bizarrely says that back then you just died of AIDS b/c there weren't drugs.  Yes, Sonny.  Like what happened to Robin?  the hell?  whatever.  any way, he delivers a ridiculously boring summation of marrying Lilly.  He says he did it b/c of "complications"  Way to describe your firstkilled child, Sonny.  gross.  blah blah, he dumped Brenda b/c he wanted to set her free.

Marble Slab:  Brenda continues to find it skeevy that Adrienne is insinuating herself into her life.  Brenda says she's not a kitten stuck in a tree.  He apparently walked off set to take care of her.  She insists she didn't want that.  He says someone nearly sliced her face, and Interpol has warned her.  Brenda starts to lose it and her voice goes to an ugly cry place and she says he has no right to treat her like some dummy who gets a mani/pedi everyday.  Murphy gets in her face right back and says he won't apologize for wanting to protect her or love her or know about what's going on with her, and he certainly isn't going to take responsibility for how the men who came before him treated her.  This shuts her up.

Jason's Penthouse:  Dante shows up to ask Jason where Sonny is.  Jason, of course, hands Dante the GPS interface for the chip installed in Sonny's earlobe.  Why do people keep asking Jason where Sonny is?  Why do they think he'd tell them?  Dante continues to ask, and Jason says he really doesn't know b/c he was dealing with a Totally Gaywad Plotline in a Cabin while Sonny was jumping bail.

Loft:  Why on earth is Patches meeting Looloo at Dante and Michael's apartment?  She is so obnoxious.  The sit on Michael' couchbed.  I hope Michael kills them first when the bloodening comes.  Patches says that Johnny suggested he quit the force and work for John.  Looloo laughs.  Patches say there was a strange part of him that wanted to say yes.

Commercials

Loft:  Loo scoffs that Patches would even consider this, and asks if this has to do with Liz.  Patches says he doesn't know, and that Liz left with the boys.  He says maybe not having to be responsible for The Boys has left him wanting to be bad.  He shakes his hands in frustration and says this whole cop thing is super lame..particularly in a town where he cops are treated like the bad guys.  He says there is a certain rhythm and creativity to being an outlaw.  Now, he can't accomplish what he wants anymore.  Loo asks wht he's going to do.  Lucky says he will let her know.  He's got to go practice rolling his r's now.

Countryclub:  Michael finally tells Michael he's thinking abut dropping out.  She begs him not to.  Buck comes back and she wants to drag him into the pool.  She tickles his tummy, and he pulls away angrily.

Jason's Penthouse:  Dante leaves and opens the door, and Carly hilariously glides into the room without noticing that she didn't open the door or knock or anything and starts talking about Sonny's whereabouts.  I imagine that's what she always intends to do when she comes over, only normally the door is annoyingly closed and/or locked, so she has to stop her train of thought and knock.  She sees Jason glaring at her, so she suddenly becomes aware that Dante opened the door for her and is still in the room.

Garden Entrance Cafe:  Sonny continues to summarize to Old Lady Cougar.  He just wants to see Brenda, and she doesn't even have to know he's there.  How Age of Innocence.  She says that Brenda's happiness means so much to him, it must be love.  She's had enough.  She speaks with a ridiculous Italian accent about true love and the crime of letting it slip away without protest.

Marble Slab:  Brenda is all "blah blah I could get hit by a bus"  He says she's too self absorbed to blah blah see the danger.  She yells at him "I'm self absorbed?  I.'.m.  self absorbed?"  She says this is who she is and if he doesn't like it, he knows how to use doors presumably, so he should.  He chews on gum and says he will.  She's glad.  But then after he leaves, she runs after him.

OR:  Patrick and Lisa scrub in and bicker.  Lisa wants to save a patient's shoulder.

Lab:  Robin comes back to the lab to find a beaker, that is now about twice the size, in a different location, and containing a boiled stuff animal.

Commercials

Garden Entrance Cafe:  Sonny thanks Aging Cougar for her good advice.  She wishes him well and leaves.  Somehow Brenda got to the elevator alone.  She presses the 1st floor button 800 times.  Some lady starts singing a maudlin song.  Two men load their guns.  Murphy storms out of the Garden Entrance.  He walks angrily past a man in a Kidnapper Van.  A couple with a giant dog get on the elevator, and Brenda is totally amused.   Some random guy picks up Sonny's magazine, but Sonny wants it back.  Brenda gets off the elevator and insanely does so by crawling over the giant dog.  the hell?  Murphy is grabbed by Kidnapper Van guys, and a shot rings out.  Brenda turns her head sharply.  Sonny sees Brenda and slowly approaches.  She slowly turns and sees him, and they smile at each other.

the end

Such outpouring from StoneCold totally gave him away. It's not romantic love though. They went to high school together. In my mind, they could've been Best Friends, if Brenda had stayed and Snarly had never been written and landed all rainy on his doorstep.

Magical Aging Cougar mac'ing on Mac the Knife. Hehe.

"I hope Michael kills them first when the bloodening comes."

For some reason this made me ROFL. And it's really not that funny.

How sad that Guza thinks he doesn't glorify the mob. Quartermaine...what's a Quartermaine?
